“Beamin’ Suns is everything!”
“Beamin’ Suns is everything!”
Beamin’ Suns was born in 2022 amid a ferocious debate about the great banana conundrum—the “correct” way to peel a banana. Should one peel it from the top or the bottom? Which is which? Who decides? The fruit laughs, and in that laughter, we found meaning—or perhaps we lost it. Beamin’ Suns is our unruly child, a testament to our boundless love for art.
Beamin’ Suns has many faces. It was founded by Wessam Minavi, an Iranian multimedia artist and language instructor based in Reutlingen, Germany, and Danylo Illinskyi, a Ukrainian actor, multimedia artist, and graphic designer based in Stuttgart, Germany. Around 2023, the group expanded to include two new members: Rana Minavi and Majid Qadaksaz. Majid is an Iranian photographer and filmmaker based in Tehran, Iran, while Rana is an Iranian painter and makeup artist based in Bremen, Germany. Together, they are Suns that beam and beams that sun. Together, they are not individuals—they are Suns: beaming, burning, colliding.
Experimentation! Multimedia expression! Interdisciplinary collaboration! Beamin’ Suns does not merely combine art forms—they pulverize boundaries, dissolve edges, and devour the neat categories of painting, photography, cinema, music, and performance. What are their works? They are puzzles and provocations, questions without answers. They explore identity, memory, connection, and the absurdity of being human. Their works demand thought. They startle, confront, and coax you into conversation with yourself. The complexities of modern life? They’re here, dancing in every piece, reflecting back at you. Beamin’ Suns doesn’t resolve—it disrupts. It doesn’t explain—it ignites.
