1. What types of films can be submitted to the Beamin’ Suns Short Film Festival?
Films of all genres, themes, and filmmaking techniques are welcome! The festival embraces all forms of storytelling. Whether your film is a personal confession, abstract art, or something entirely unclassifiable, surprise us with your creativity!
2. Who can participate in the Festival?
Anyone aged 18 or older by the submission date is welcome to participate. Submissions are open to both individuals and institutions, including production companies, film schools, creative collectives, and more.
3. How do I submit my short film to the Festival?
Submissions are accepted exclusively via the official Google Form. You can upload your short film via Google Drive or any other cloud service. Just ensure that the sharing settings allow the file to be viewed without requesting access—otherwise, your submission will be disqualified.
4. Is there an entry fee for submitting to the Festival?
No, submission to the Beamin’ Suns Short Film Festival is completely free of charge.
5. What are the key deadlines for submission?
The submission period opens on April 25, 2025, and closes on August 31, 2025, at midnight (23:59).
6. Are there any restrictions on the length of the film?
Yes, submitted films must be no longer than 15 minutes in runtime.
7. Do I need to include subtitles in my film?
If your film is not in English, English subtitles must be burned into the file. If your film is multilingual, English subtitles are required for all non-English scenes.
8. Can I submit more than one short film?
Yes, each director can submit up to two short films. All entries must have been produced within the last two years — between January 1, 2022, and the end of the submission period.
9. Does the Festival pay any screening fees?
No, the Beamin’ Suns Short Film Festival does not pay any screening fees for submitted films.
10. What happens after my film is nominated?
If your film is nominated, you will be required to provide additional materials, including a screening copy of the film (with subtitles if applicable), a poster, a trailer, six stills, and a director’s photo. Nominated films cannot be removed from the competition once submitted.
