What do the sun’s beams do?
What do the sun’s beams do?
In spring, they melt winter’s chill—awakening color, scent, and life from the stillness. But in summer, they sharpen: light turns harsh, heat becomes suffocating, shadows grow stark, air hangs heavy. Beamin’ Suns Short Film Festival is not about the sun. It is the sun. A cultural movement transforming how cinema lives and evolves, it provides a platform, establishes networks, amplifies visibility, and encourages participation for filmmakers worldwide—at any career stage—and their bold, boundary-breaking works.
Beamin’ Suns Short Film Festival is founded, directed and co-organized by Beamin’ Suns and crafted by their studio, In The Closet. Beamin’ Suns is an artist collective, a media production hub, a cultural institution—and beyond! In The Closet is Beamin’ Suns’s creative engine: a media studio crafting graphic designs, film edits, and visual storytelling. Beamin’ Suns and its studio are currently based in the southwestern German state of Baden-Württemberg.
Shedhalle Tübingen e.V. – Forum für zeitgenössische Künste co-organizes the Beamin’ Suns Short Film Festival, providing the venue for the Festival program. It is a forum for contemporary art located in Tübingen, in southwestern Germany, housed in the former city slaughterhouse. In addition to exhibitions, it hosts artist residencies, festivals, concerts, workshops, and experimental events, all connected to the local art scene.
